Our Story

In 2017, while pregnant with my twins, I traveled back to my home country, Turkey. Near the end of my pregnancy, my feet were swollen and aching—even my most comfortable espadrilles offered no relief. During one of those long shopping days in Istanbul, we ended up at the Grand Bazaar. That’s where everything changed.

Amid the vibrant stalls, I discovered a small shop selling traditional handmade leather shoes known as Yemeni. My husband and I each bought a pair. Mine were simple, with beautiful patterns crafted from old carpets. That summer, I practically lived in them.

6 months pregnant here.

To my surprise, these flat shoes—despite my high arches—never caused me pain. They felt like they molded to my feet, becoming softer and more natural with each step. And because they were made entirely of genuine leather, my feet stayed cool and sweat-free.

I later learned that Yemeni shoes carry a 700-year tradition. Crafted entirely by hand, they are passed down through generations of artisans who pour their knowledge and care into every stitch. These shoes don’t just fit your feet—they become a part of you.

For years after, I kept buying my pairs from that same tiny Grand Bazaar shop. Deep down, I always wanted to share this incredible comfort and heritage with people in the U.S. But as a new mother of twins, and later navigating the challenges of Covid and work, I put the dream aside.

Then, in 2025—after over 100 days on a personal transformation journey with health and mindset—I realized it was time to let go of fear and finally take the leap.

This brand is not just another business for me. I’ve been a long-time fashion blogger and marketer, but this is something more personal. It’s about sharing the shoes that carried me through one of the most important seasons of my life, and about bringing centuries of craftsmanship to a modern audience who values comfort, authenticity, and timeless style.

Our ateliers in Turkey have been making Yemeni shoes for three generations. They are among the very best at what they do. Each pair of shoes is handmade with genuine leather—designed to be lightweight, breathable, and effortlessly stylish.

When you wear them, you’re not just buying shoes. You’re stepping into a living tradition, one that connects the past and present, crafted to carry you forward in comfort and confidence.
